    Onayelu and Ofiran -Oye were brothers and Sons of King Oshinmore the then Awujale of Ijebu Ode.\u00a0 Onayelu was the elder brother while Ofiran Oye is the younger of the two. In those days Onayelu goes to Ijebu Igbo to hunt on daily basis, during one of his hunting days their father King Oshinmore the Awujale of Ijebu Ode had died but before the arrival of Onayelu from his hunting exploration his younger brother Ofiran Oye had usurped the power of the royal throne. This caused a lot of rift between the two brothers as Onayelu was determined to claim his royal birth right from his brother Ofiran Oye who had now been crowned the new Awujale of Ijebu Ode. Onayelu was later persuaded by their people to establish his own kingship at Ijebu Igbo his hunting abode Ijebu Igbo is therefore founded by King Onayelu Ijebu Igbo .     Ijebu Igbo (Yoruba: \u00ccj\u1eb9\u0300b\u00fa-Igb\u00f3) is a town in Ogun State, Nigeria. It is approximately a 15-minute drive north of Ijebu Ode.\u00a0 Ijebu Igbo, also written as Ijebu-Igbo, is the headquarters of Ijebu North Local Government Authority of Ogun State, Nigeria.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    There are cottage industries in Ijebu Igbo , past was Shola\u2019s lace factory founded in 1978 by Chief Shakirudeen Kazeem, Auto distribution by Chief T.O Kuti a.k.a Abusi Odumare, founder of Abusi Odumare Academy, Chief PopoOla Salami also a one time business magnate from OkeAgbo.\u00a0 Currently the Timber industry still thrive as major business, so do the Hide and skin (Ponmo) Industry that engage our women folks as passionate business.<\/span><\/p>

    The town\u2019s primary economic activities are timber, cocoa, and exploitation of mineral resources and it is home to many saw mills and also a developed quarry. Like all other Ijebus, the people of Ijebu Igbo speak the Ijebu dialect, which is distinct from but similar to the Yoruba language.<\/span><\/p>
