The Ijebu Igbo Descendants of North America was formed on April 10/2021 after multiple constructive discussions and consultations between Dr. Tony Ogundipe, Dr. Thomas Osinowo, Dr. Kola Odulaja (from US & Canada) and some members of our brothers and sisters from the Ijebu Igbo Descendants (IID) UK in 2021. Most notable personalities from IID UK were: Alhaji Kazeem Haruna Ishola, Mr. Popoola Sojinrin, Mr. Ola Busari, Prince Femi Sijuade, Alhaji Sobowale, Mrs. Olabisi Kazeem & Chief Mrs. Bola Odubajo-Ilori. We discussed the modalities for the formation of the association considering the legal, technical and other challenges in working together as a team.

The association was registered in Canada and USA as a not-for-profit organization with the core objectives of rallying the sons and daughters of Ijebu Igbo in North America together for the development of the homeland. We also plan to collaborate with other Ijebu Igbo associations of like minds:
Couple of members were selected to lead the organization in the interim. From Canada: Dr. Bosun Ogundipe, Dr. Olayinka Agbejule, Dr. Okunlola, Mrs. Kemi Micho. From the US: Dr. Ibikunle Salami, Dr. Thomas O. Osinowo, Mr. Olalekan Akinyemi, Chief Mufutau Ambali, Mr. Dauda Sanni and Mr. Benedict Odumosu, Chief (Mrs) Tolulope Shonuga, Alhaji Dauda Olamilekan Sanni
These individuals have been holding the association in good shape and actively participating in the association activities contributing their time and money. Since the birth of AIID, we have contributed to all the major activities in Ijebu Igbo. In addition, we have been able to put a constitution together.
